The Clash, gegründet 1976 in London, gilt als eine der musikalisch einflussreichsten Punk-Bands der ersten Generation. Sie waren musikalisch vielgestaltiger als andere Bands dieses Genres und verarbeiteten Einflüsse aus Reggae, Folk und Dub.


The Clash gründeten sich im Juni 1976 in der ersten Welle der britischen Punk-Bewegung. Paul Simonon (London SS) und Mick Jones (London SS) wurden am 31. Mai von ihrem Manager Bernie Rhodes mit Joe Strummer, der zu dieser Zeit mit The 101'ers lokal erfolgreich war, bekannt gemacht. Read more on Last.fm
