The Rakes waren eine britische Indie-Rock-Band, die am 4. April 2002 in London von Alan Donohoe, Matthew Swinnerton, Jamie Hornsmith und Lasse Petersen gegründet wurde. Ihr Name stammt von Igor Strawinskis Oper "The Rake’s Progress".
