Pantera (spanisch: Panther) war eine US-amerikanische Metal-Band aus Fort Worth, Texas. Der genaue Zeitpunkt der Bandgründung kann derzeit nicht durch offizielle Quellen exakt nachgewiesen werden, erfolgte aber höchstwahrscheinlich 1981. Panteras Musik hatte starken Einfluss auf die Entwicklung des modernen Metal.
