The Cramps ist eine US-amerikanische Band. Sie spielt eine Stilrichtung, die eine Mischung aus Punk, Rockabilly, Surf, Garage und Thrash ist.

Geschichte

Die Band wurde 1975 von dem Pärchen Lux Interior (Erik Purkisher) und Poison Ivy Rorschach (Kristy Wallace) in Akron, Ohio gegründet. Beide beschlossen jedoch im Herbst nach New York zu ziehen, weil dies ihrer Meinung nach ein besserer Platz für ihre Band war. Dort trafen sie Bryan Gregory dessen musikalische Erfahrungen sich auf das spielen der Fußpedale einer Orgel beschränkte. Read more on Last.fm
