Gretchen Wilson (* 26. Juni 1973 in Pocahontas, Illinois) ist eine US-amerikanische Countrysängerin und Songwriterin.

Biografie

Gretchen Wilson stammt aus einfachen Verhältnissen aus einer Kleinstadt mit etwa 700 Einwohnern. Ihre Mutter war bei ihrer Geburt erst 16 Jahre alt, ihr Vater verließ Mutter und Tochter zwei Jahre später. Im Alter von fünfzehn Jahren zog sie von zu Hause aus und arbeitete zunächst als Kellnerin.
