The Chieftains sind eine 1962 gegründete irische Musikgruppe. Bekannt sind sie vor allem für ihre traditionelle irische Musik. Die Band hat viele Instrumental-Alben mit Irish Folk aufgenommen. Dazu kamen noch viele Zusammenarbeiten mit Musikern unterschiedlicher Musikstile wie Country, traditioneller galicischer Musik, von Cape Breton oder aus Neufundland sowie Rock and Roll.
